member of the soloist ensemble at The Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen
where she has sung roles such as Azucena (Il Trovatore), Eboli (Don
Carlo), Ulrica (Un Ballo in Maschera), Amneris(Aida), Ortrud
(Lohengrin), Fricka (Rheingold/ Walküre), Erda (Siegfried ), Venus
(Tannhäuser), Jezibaba ( Rusalka), Herodias (Salome), Klytämnestra
(Elektra), Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde) and Amme (Die Frau ohne
Schatten).
She is in high demand as a guest artist in leading opera houses and
festivals such as Op?ra Capitole de Toulouse (M?re Marie), Deutsche Oper
Berlin (Ortrud), Hamburgisches Staatsoper (Ulrica), Gothenburg Opera
(Kabanicha, Mrs Quickly, Ulrica),San Fransico Opera ( Mescalina/Le Grand
Macabre), Norwegian Opera (Klyämnestra) and others. Furthermore, she is
a returning guest at the Salzburger Festspiele.
Susanne Resmark has a large and varied concert repertoire which includes
all major works for mezzo soprano and alto soloist and works regularly
with the world's leading conductors, such as Herbert Blomstedt, Rafael
Frühbeck de Burgos, Semyon Bychkov, Valery Gergiev, Kent Nagano,
Friedemann Layer, Michael Boder, Michael Schönwandt, Yannick
Nez?t-S?guin, and Mikhail Jurowskij a.o.
Among upcoming engagements we find Ms Resmark's d?but at New York's
Metropolitan Opera as Ragonde in Rossini's opera Le Comte Ory, Ortrud at
the New National Theater in Tokyo, Eboli at Gothenburg Opera and in
spring 2011 ms Resmark will make her d?but a La Scala Milan. Future
roles will include Kundry and Santuzza.

rewards: The Birgit Nilsson Award (1988 and 2002), The Elisabeth
Don reward (2002) and Denmark's most prestigious theatrical reward, The
Reumert prize for Best Singer (2007) for her performances as Ortrud in
Peter Konwitschny's Lohengrin.
In 2007 Susanne Resmark was bestowed the honour of being appointed Knight of the Dannebrog by HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.
